Yesterday, 5/21/2025, we had our End of the year award Ceremony for our 1st - 4th graders.
Here are our 1st and 2nd graders who won the principal awards.

Yesterday, we celebrate a very special group of students — our incredible 4th graders — as they take the next big step in their journey: promoting to 5th grade!
We are so proud of the hard work, growth, and kindness these students have shown throughout the year. From their bright curiosity to their creative spirits, they've made a lasting impact on our school community.
Though we'll miss their laughter, energy, and smiling faces in our classrooms, we know they are more than ready to soar to new heights.
Congratulations, 4th graders! Keep being amazing — the future is bright, and it starts with YOU.

What a wonderful way to close out the school year! Yesterday, we celebrated our students’ achievements at our End of the Year Ceremony, and it was a joyful reminder of all the hard work, growth, and dedication our students have shown. We recognized our 1st - 4th grade students for: Excellent Attendance – showing up and giving their best every day Specials Awards – shining in areas like steam, music, P.E., and the Library. Reading Awards – most growth in their reading scores. EDL Awards – making great strides in their English language development We’re so proud of every student who was recognized today—and of all our students for an amazing year of learning and growing. Congratulations to our young achievers! Keep reaching for the stars!

These are our 3rd and 4th grade students who won the principal award.

Dear JETS Families,
Graduation Day is here! Graduation will take place May 20th at 7:00 pm at the football stadium.
Seniors will need to report to the gym lobby at 5:30pm.
The gates to the stadium will open at 6:00 pm. Please review the parking map and instructions for what is allowed in the stadium. We appreciate your cooperation so that we all enjoy and celebrate our Seniors!

Dear JETS Families,
We are actively monitoring the forecast as there is a possibility of severe weather developing around dismissal time today. As always, student safety is our top priority. If conditions become unsafe, we will hold buses and walkers until it is safe to release them. Parents who would prefer to pick up their student early are welcome to do so at any time this afternoon and the absence will not be counted against them.
Due to the forecasted threat of severe weather, all after-school events and activities are canceled, including Boys & Girls Club. We will be in communication about any rescheduled events. Please stay weather aware and take necessary precautions.

Look for our Council Grove and Greenvale SOAR students on Fox 25 at 5pm today! We were invited by WesTen to participate in today's art dedication. Our 3rd graders researched Jesse Chisholm and the original Council Grove area and presented what they learned to attendees.

As the school year comes to a close, we also prepare to say goodbye to someone incredibly special—Mrs. Spena, our amazing music teacher, is retiring.
For years, she has brought music, warmth, and heart into every classroom, every hallway, and every child’s day. Her love for music was matched only by her love for her students, and her impact will be felt for years to come.
From steady rhythms to sweet melodies, Mrs. Spena taught more than just notes—she taught confidence, creativity, and joy.
It’s hard to imagine Council Grove without her, but we are so thankful for the years we had together.
As her time with us draws to an end, we wish her a retirement filled with the same peace and joy she’s given to so many.
Thank you, Mrs. Spena. You will always have a place in our hearts and in the soul of our school.
