Thank you to all of our special education teachers and staff at Council Grove!! you are all AMAZING!! This afternoon, Mr. Khol and Mrs. Roehm presented at the Oklahoma Autism Conference and then made sure our CG families were offered some very important conversations and training at our parent SPARKS meeting at Council Grove! Mr. Kohl, Miss White, Mrs. Custer, our speech pathologist, and Dr. Dawn Collums, our Special Education Director, led the discussions and trainings while our wonderful special education paraprofessionals provided childcare! They even provided yummy food for everyone! Thank you to the parents who attended and to our staff. It was a fun and informative evening!!

Tonight we kicked off our first SPARKS Parent Support Meeting of the year, and what an amazing evening it was! 💙 Families of students with IEPs and 504s came together to share stories, learn, and support one another. We are so thankful to our Speech Administrator, who guided parents through understanding services and using AAC devices, and to our Special Education Director and School Counselor for their encouragement and wisdom. Parents had the chance to connect in small groups, ask questions, and walk away with both resources and community. SPARKS is all about Supporting Parents and Resources for Kids with Special Needs, and nights like this remind us that when we come together, we grow stronger. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the staff and volunteers who made this possible. Together, we are writing a story of inclusion, connection, and hope. 💡 This is Our Story. #CouncilGroveElementary #ThisIsOurStory #SPARKS #ThunderbirdStrong #SpecialEducationSupport #FamilyConnections #InclusionMatters

Bravo Betty 09/12

💜💛 This Is Our Story at Council Grove 💛💜

Last Friday morning at Rise and Shine, we celebrated the heart of who we are as Thunderbirds.

📚 Our Bravo from Betty winners were honored for being role models—consistently following our school expectations and showing others the way. Each student took home a free book, a reminder that learning and leadership go hand in hand.

💖 We also lifted up a Kindness Award winner, recognized for going above and beyond to care for friends with extra love and compassion.

Every time our students are caught being responsible, respectful, and kind, they add to the story we’re writing together. And this is our story: a school where Thunderbirds lift each other up, shine bright, and soar higher every day. 🦅✨

Yesterday, we celebrate a very special group of students — our incredible 4th graders — as they take the next big step in their journey: promoting to 5th grade! We are so proud of the hard work, growth, and kindness these students have shown throughout the year. From their bright curiosity to their creative spirits, they've made a lasting impact on our school community. Though we'll miss their laughter, energy, and smiling faces in our classrooms, we know they are more than ready to soar to new heights. Congratulations, 4th graders! Keep being amazing — the future is bright, and it starts with YOU.
